Why Not a Blog?

When you call a website a blog, visitors to that site have a right to expect certain things from it. The last thing the world needs is another blog from a busy Cybersecurity professional who rarely has time to update it. Here are a few reasons why I would not call this website a blog.

Infrequent Posts

Perhaps the main difference is between this website and a standard blog is that I am not trying to grow it into something more than a small personal hobby site. As hobby website, it is not my primary focus. I may add more posts from time to time but I don't anticipate that I will need to do this often.

No Monetization

Unlike many websites which most peaople might consider to be blogs, this website is not built as an added source of income. You may notice that this website does not have any ads. Also, I am not selling my professional services or advice. These are good reasons to start and maintain a blog, but this website is not intended to be a blog.

Little Professional Information

Ketelsen.co is not a replacement for websites like LinkedIn.com. I plan to use LinkedIn.com as my source for professional information. Visitorsd to this website should not expect to find any information that is not on my LinkedIn.com profile.

No How-to posts

This website will not include and How-to posts or information about cybersecurity, web design, website automation, programming, running a small business, etc. These are things that I am interested in but I do not believe that Ketelsen.co is the correct place for this information.

No Social Media

There are many reasons why most cybersecurity professionals choose their social media posts very carefully and often avoid them. It is very easy to lose track of all of the information communicated on these websites. It is alo very easy to use cybersecurity intelligence tools to dig up hidden information and scrape personal details from social media.
